JOB SUMMARY: We’re hiring a Vegetation Management Crew Lead who will also take on Traveling Field Specialist responsibilities as the seasons shift. This role offers a unique opportunity to work outdoors year-round, leading vegetation management crews and supporting utility infrastructure across diverse landscapes. In warmer months, the focus is on supervising herbicide application and invasive plant control efforts. During cooler seasons, the role transitions to travel-based field inspections, tree inventories, and public outreach. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead and direct field crews in vegetation management operations, including invasive plant identification, assessment, and treatment.Apply herbicide treatments safely and effectively, maintaining compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.Conduct safety meetings, enforce PPE usage, and ensure adherence to all safety protocols.Coordinate with project managers, landowners, and agencies to plan and execute vegetation management tasks.Maintain accurate records of treatment areas, herbicide usage, and crew productivity.Oversee equipment inventory, maintenance, and readiness for field operations.Coordinate and book travel logistics for field assignments, including lodging and scheduling.Perform tree and brush inventories, hazard tree inspections, and lidar-based assessments.Communicate with property owners and public agencies regarding vegetation work, including pruning and removals.Plan and coordinate work for tree contractors and manage field data collection and reporting.Participate in emergency response efforts and support utility vegetation management across diverse terrain.Ensure all work complies with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.Follow all company policies and procedures, and actively contribute to a culture of safety and employee ownership.OTHER DUTIES: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Position will require travel to, from and between work sites.Safely operate trucks, ATVs, UTVs.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Herbicide Applicator License (any state)2 years’ experience in Invasive Vegetation Management.Valid Driver license.Applicant must pass pre-employment drug screening.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Supervisory experience ensuring production targets are met while meeting financial targets.Experience in ensuring compliance and implementation of safety standards.Ability to acquire the required state pesticide applicator.Ability to work outside and in a range of weather conditions.Possesses the ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.Organization of equipment before, during and after shifts as needed.Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast paced, and ever-changing environment.Self-motivated and the ability to work well individually and as part of a team.Ability to prioritize competing tasks as new situations continue to emerge.Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors.Decision making, organizational, and time management skills.Demonstrate excellent focus on rapport-building, listening, questioning and patience.Communicate effectively with all levels of employees.Ready to grow your career with Eocene?
