Description Fund Accountant - Venture Capital Firm A leading early-stage venture capital firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Fund Accountant to join its dynamic finance team. This firm invests in frontier technologies, including blockchain and artificial intelligence, and is known for its innovative approach to fund operations and portfolio management. The Fund Accountant will play a pivotal role in supporting fund reporting, audits, and operational processes. Key Responsibilities Fund Reporting + Review quarterly reports for various fund structures. + Reconcile digital asset transactions with blockchain records. + Distribute capital statements and manage fund administrator relationships. Annual Audit + Review annual financial statements and coordinate with auditors. + Manage audit documentation and support requests. Fund Operations + Execute capital calls, distributions, redemptions, and investment funding. + Track investment data and valuations in proprietary systems. + Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities. + Respond to investor inquiries and support SPV finance processes. + Assist with tax compliance, including K-1 and tax return reviews. + Contribute to ad-hoc financial analyses and strategic projects. Requirements Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, or a related field. + 3–5+ years of experience in asset management auditing or accounting, including at least 2 years in venture capital or private equity. + CPA preferred; candidates must have passed FAR & REG. + Self-starter with strong collaboration skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. + Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets. + Interest in crypto, emerging tech, or AI is a strong plus. + Must be based in San Francisco or New York and available to work onsite two days per week.
