Vascular Technologist
Job Description A leading hospital on Long Island is seeking a Vascular Technologist. The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer specializing in vascular imaging is a healthcare professional trained to perform non-invasive diagnostic procedures using ultrasound technology. This role involves conducting vascular ultrasound exams, preparing equipment, collecting patient history, and communicating findings to the appropriate medical personnel. The technologist ensures high-quality imaging and patient care throughout the diagnostic process. - Collect and document relevant patient history from charts, interviews, and electronic systems. - Perform vascular ultrasound procedures, adapting techniques based on anatomical and pathological findings. - Use clinical judgment to distinguish between normal and abnormal imaging results. - Analyze sonographic data and communicate preliminary findings to physicians. - Enter exam details and patient data into electronic reporting systems. - Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy during procedures. - Maintain accurate procedure logs and assist with billing documentation. - Support accreditation efforts by adhering to quality and compliance standards. - Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment. - Clean and disinfect equipment according to manufacturer guidelines. - Monitor and restock supplies, notifying supervisors when inventory is low. - Assist in onboarding and training of new staff or students as needed. - Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
