Hackettstown Medical Center is seeking a Part-Time Vascular Lab Special Procedures Tech. Required hours are 7:00am-3:00pm Monday thru Friday. Starting rate: $33.00/hr.
Essential Functions Responsibilities:
Performs special procedure (Interventional) exams as well as diagnostic and assists with patient preparation before procedures and performs sterile technique as indicated in support of the invasive procedure. Prepares equipment and supplies for procedures. Prepares sterile trays. Maintains sterility. Scrubs with Physician. Logs procedures. Labels images in PAC. Alerts staff of equipment issues. Ensures patient comfort. Verifies patient identification. Communicates with patients and families to reduce anxiety. Assists with patient positioning and monitoring. Maintains inventory and stocks IR area. Monitors supplies and rotates inventory. Notifies Lead tech of expiring products. Documents in the electronic medical record. Communicates effectively. Ensures information continuity on equipment, supplies, staffing, and concerns. Uses pleasant and informative communication with patients, families, and staff. Maintains professional telephone manners. Cooperates with co-workers and departments. Coordinates procedures. Triages procedures to daily schedule. Coordinates emergency and unscheduled requests. Maintains workflow and communicates with departments. Updates IR charge nurse on patient flow and procedures. Oversees procedure charges in PAC. Performs tasks per Coordinator and Lead. Assists with routine procedures. Cleans Interventional Suite after each use and end of day. Maintains cleanliness. Reports equipment issues. Assists RNs in IR Holding Area. Precepts new techs. Educates CVT students. Adheres to all policies and procedures of AHS. Performs other related duties as assigned.Requirements:
State Licensed RT (ARRT) required. BLS Certification required. HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required. Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course required. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Current vascular or IR procedural experience strongly preferred.
