Varicent Lead Software Engineer

In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.

Human Resources Technology (HRIT) provides technology support for employee focused applications and processes, including payroll, benefits, learning and recruiting.  We elevate and enhance the employee experience through smart solutions and tooling, enabling our teams to be more productive.

This is an exciting opportunity to help support Wells Fargo’s Human Resources transformation to deliver a new experience for our team through process and technology. As a Lead Software Engineer supporting the Incentive Compensation Product, this role will participate in a multi-year project to onboard multiple incentive compensation plans, administrators, and employees into one enterprise tool.  Additionally, this person will continue to maintain those plans, data integrations, reports through ongoing enhancements and various technology driven updates.


In this role, you will:

Configure and maintain the Varicent model through creation of parameters, tables, reference data, calculations, data integrations, process workflows, creation and maintenance of payee reports for employees and administratorsPartner with Incentive Compensation Center of Excellence, Incentive Compensation Product Owner, and multiple product team members to deliver the body of workLead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impactAct as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplinesDesign, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programsReview and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factorsMake decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiativesCollaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goalsLead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentorParticipate in requirements gathering sessions, review user stories, and user acceptance criteriaAssist with documentation to capture data flow diagrams, data definition documents, decision trees, logic diagrams, requirements documents, model design, and user experience flows.Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirementsApply knowledge of industry trends and technology to drive organizational change and position Wells Fargo for the future


Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education5+ years of technical design experience5+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience5+ years of experience with SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools3+ years experience implementing or configuration of Varicent2+ years of Agile / scrum experience


Desired Qualifications:

5+ years of general Varicent software experience3+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, Shell, VBScript, or JavaScriptExperience working with transaction-based incentive compensation plansHR SaaS implementation experience such as Workday, Oracle or SAPKnowledge and understanding of automated workflows designAbility to implement a solution and communicate, in clear business terms, the benefits of the proposed risk management approach Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teamsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$131,000.00 - $206,000.00
