What will you do?
A day in the life of an Associate, Design Operations at Vans looks a little like this.
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Design Operations Associate to help bring Vans’ creative vision to life across footwear and apparel. In this role, you’ll work closely with teams like merchandising, development, and marketing to help keep key design moments on track, improve how we work, and make sure everyone’s aligned. Reporting to the Manager of Design Operations, you’ll be right at the heart of where creativity meets organization—making sure our design process runs smoothly and lives up to the high standards of the Vans brand. Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.
Creative Milestone Support: Help keep key design moments on track by organizing meetings, prepping materials, and making sure follow-ups are handled smoothly.Go-To-Market (GTM) Support: Work closely with cross-functional Operations teams to make sure all Design needs for presentations and meetings—like visuals, materials, or other support—are provided.Workflow & Process Management: Partner with manager to make the teams day-to-day work run better. You’ll help document and improve how we do things so the team can work more efficiently together.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Be a go-to connector between our cross-functional teams. Ensuring teams have visibility to upcoming deadlines, and to collect and share feedback to inform process improvement strategies.Project Tracking & Metrics: Track project status, deadlines, and deliverables, providing weekly updates to the Manager. Monitor key metrics such as late adds, change rates, and sample development ratios.What do you need to succeed?
We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 2 - 4 years of experience and professional achievements.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
Experience in design operations, project coordination, or creative team support roles.A passion for process and creative solutions when a pivot is needed.Exceptional organizational and communication skills.Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.A collaborative mindset and willingness to jump in wherever needed.Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint.Location requirement: Hybrid schedule in-office in Costa Mesa, CA.
There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.
Proficiency in Figma, PLM and/or Smartsheet.Knowledge of the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept through launch.Understanding of Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies and experience working within GTM calendar to align product readiness and operational timelines.Now WE have a question for YOU.

Hiring Range:
$82,080.00 USD - $102,600.00 USD annuallyIncentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
