To strengthen our Access, Sustainability & Public Affairs department, we are looking for a talented profile to fill the position of: Value & HEOR Lead – Milan, Italy.

 

About the role

The Value & HEOR Lead builds a robust value proposition for each product of UCB portfolio, engages with stakeholders, and addresses market challenges through integrated pricing, access, and impact strategies. This role drives the generation and application of clinical, social, and economic RWE to support market access, optimize product positioning, and maintain sustainable, patient access across the UCB portfolio. This contributes to UCB’s ambition to be the patient-preferred biotech company.

 

You will work with

In this role, the Value & HEOR Lead collaborate closely with the Medical function to strengthen UCB’s Value Proposition through the generation and integration of clinical, social, and economic Real-World Evidence (RWE). There will be engagement also with Regulatory Affairs and Commercial teams, ensuring a cohesive and multidisciplinary approach.

 

 What You Will Do

Lead the preparation of pricing and reimbursement dossiers for submission to health authorities, technology assessment boards, and payers. Drive Access and Real-World Evidence (RWE) strategy across the portfolio and collaborate with Medical Affairs to design and execute RWE activities from a health economics perspectiveDevelop and implement health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) activities in collaboration with the Strategic Pricing Lead, Tender team, and Patient Value UnitsCollaborate with other functions within the Access, Sustainability & Public Affairs (ASPA) team to build a comprehensive framework that supports patient access through a holistic, multi-stakeholder approachSupport the Strategic Pricing Lead in customizing cost-effectiveness and budget impact models for relevant disease areas, using available clinical evidence and cost parametersDevelop health economics strategies and arguments to support value proposition initiativesAssist the Regional Affairs team in integrating UCB products into regional and local formularies by preparing tailored local value dossiersIdentify and provide analytical support for business-driven actions based on changes in the healthcare system and their implications for UCBEstimate the impact of pharmaceutical cost-containment measures on the UCB portfolio

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Healthcare Management or Pharmacoeconomics5–8 years of experience in a health economics or market access roleFluent in both spoken and written English, ensuring clear, effective, and professional communication at all levelsStrong strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to develop sound, evidence-based access strategiesExcellent negotiation skills, with experience engaging regulatory bodies, payers, and internal/external stakeholdersProven problem-solving abilities and adaptability to respond to regulatory changes and evolving market needsDemonstrated leadership and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with medical, commercial, regulatory, and finance teamsAdvanced proficiency in analyzing and interpreting real-world evidence (RWE) and pharmacoeconomic data to support strategic decisionsAbility to work independently, take initiative, and make timely decisions aligned with UCB’s strategic objectivesIn-depth knowledge of the Italian access ecosystemResults-oriented with strong attention to detailFlexible and adaptable, while remaining focused and persistentWillingness to travel as needed (approximately 10–20%)
