Value Chain Optimization Director - South

Position Summary The Value Chain Optimization Director - South Region reports directly to the Vice President, Value Chain Optimization (VCO) - South Region and is responsible for near-term Planning and Optimization of the South Region Value Chain, including Galveston Bay and Garyville Refineries, connected logistics, and international markets served out of the USGC . Directs refinery Economics and Planning teams and logistics coordinators, communicating operating plans , and asset capabilities and constraints to the commercial organization and commercial strategy to the operating components. Key Responsibilities + Leads groups of refineries within assigned region to develop and optimize tactical operating plans to maximize value to MPC and to enhance commercial contributions to the value chain. + Serves as a subject matter expert and consultant to ensure product placement strategy, including contract commitments, market expansion, etc. is aligned with refining strategy. + Identifies value chain constraints and opportunities, determines the economic impact, and develops solutions to mitigate and capture. + Understands long-term market view to align and validate production and marketing business plans. + Ensures alignment of operating plans and optimization decisions across organization al boundaries impacting the regional value chain to optimize overall value to the company. + Ensures alignment of refinery production plans and product placement plans including risk management for all feedstocks and products. + Drives alignment across value chain on prompt market view to align and validate production and marketing decisions. + Develops processes to transparently communicate prompt events impacting value chain optimization across organizations. + E nsure optimized plan s are translated into targets for operations. + Supports XPIMS model runs , ensuring high-fidelity decision support for short- and mid-term commercial planning, trading strategy, and asset optimization. + Ensure alignment between Commercial and Operations leadership on Regional operating plans and strategy. + Helps p repares monthly regional operating plan for presentation to the executive leadership team.
