Job Description

Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Perform tissue culture-based potency assays on live vaccine products, process intermediates, and related experimental sample Prepare solutions and culture mediaMaintain multiple cell linesMaintain records and test results following good manufacturing practices (GMP)Author and/or review scientific reports, SOPs, and assay proceduresWork independently and efficientlyDocument work clearly and perform tests accuratelyCommunicate effectively with client staff membersExperience with ELISA and other cell-based assaysProvide analytical assay/technical support for new and in-line vaccine programsRoutine sample testing to support in-line product improvementParticipate in departmental and cross-functional project teamsPerform analysis of vaccine products and process intermediates utilizing various analytical techniquesEffectively summarize and present results and recommendations at meetings and technical review sessions

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

 

BS degree with 5-7 years’ experience, MS degree with 3-5 years’ experience, or PhD with 0-1 years’ experience in biotechnology, biology, cell biology, virology, biochemistry, or other related degree concentration.Experience with cell culture, aseptic technique, ELISA, PCR, Capillary Electrophoresis (CE), Western Blot, Southern blot, Cell biology and/or virologyStrong laboratory/bench skills including pipettes and automation, with previous experience independently and collaboratively designing, executing and interpreting the results of analytical assaysProven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hands-on laboratory setting, self-motivated, adaptable, and a positive attitudeStrong scientific, computer, organizational, and documentation skills, attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to perform method development and optimizationFamiliarity with aseptic techniquesAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policiesExcellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
