UX Designer, People Engagement Experience (PEX)

As a UX Designer of the PEX team, you will be responsible for the design of the end-to-end employee experience. You’ll craft elegant design solutions across a range of personas and platforms at global scale and collaborate closely with product and engineering partners, as well as multiple partner teams within the broader People Experience Technology (PXT) and Amazon Worldwide Operation orgs. You will also work on large scope products and long-term design visions to raise the UX bar for this domain, bringing craft and expertise. A to Z is an AI-first product, with generative AI elements such as a conversational assistant and a growing number of productivity tools.

To succeed in this role, the candidate must be an innovative self-starter in driving operational excellence and a strategic big-picture thinker. The candidate must have proven the ability to succeed in a highly ambiguous, fast-paced environment. Key job responsibilities
- Reimagine and transform experiences to be AI-first.
- Assume ownership for the end to end product experiences and features across desktop, mobile and more.
- Manage the user experience design of multiple mid-to-large-sized programs.
- Contribute to the vision for the organization and influence product strategic roadmap. Lead the discovery, strategize concept design and launch phases of a project.
- Champion user-centered design culture. Drive creative process and collaboration with cross-functional partners to propose new ideas and strategies.
- Model behavior that exemplifies Amazon Leadership Principles in their team. Raises the design bar for the organization.
- Provide coaching and feedback, with an emphasis on growing junior Independent Contributors and leadership capability.
- Create and drive adoption of design guidelines, mechanisms, best practices, process and tools.

A day in the life
You’ll work with a cross-functional team of highly capable designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers, inventing and iterating on end-to-end workflows and experiences. You’ll develop your ideas using the right tool, whether that's starting from a sketch or jumping straight to a prototype. AI is shaking up how we design, and we are leading the charge. You'll bring disruptive ideas to life with strong judgement and taste. You'll move fast, and embrace experimentation, but will always maintain a high bar for craft and polish.

People Engagement Experience is multidisciplinary team creating truly meaningful products and experiences that empower and connect millions of Amazon employees. Our smart, passionate, and eccentric crew consists of 40+ UX designers, UX researchers, visual designers and copy writers. We have a broad mix of experience levels, tenures, educational background, skills, and location. We’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship.
