About the Role

The Core UX team is responsible for owning and maintaining our Twitch Design System that supports building and maintaining a cross-platform live streaming service. We are seeking a Senior Design Systems Designer to join our Core UX team at Twitch. In this role, you will support the evolution and maintenance of Twitch's design system. You will ensure consistency and efficiency across our cross-platform live streaming service while collaborating with cross-functional partners, representing our design system to the design organization.

Your work will directly impact millions of streamers and viewers, shaping the future of live, interactive entertainment. We're looking for someone who champions human-centered design and can balance playful experiences with systematic thinking. You can work from Twitch’s headquarters in San Francisco, CA; or from one of our hub locations in Seattle, WA; Irvine, CA; Los Angeles, CA or New York City, NY.

You Will

- Collaborate with designers and engineers to evolve and maintain Twitch's design system and product visual language, including color, typography, iconography, motion, grid, shape, illustration, and 3D, while demonstrating a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to refining the polish and performance of your work.
- Lead the creation and refinement of UI components, patterns, and template libraries, ensuring each element meets high visual craft standards, aligns with accessibility goals, and reflects a systematic approach to design with a strong eye for consistency.
- Translate visual language principles into clear, actionable documentation and guidelines for widespread adoption by design and engineering teams, demonstrating your ability to present complex system decisions to diverse audiences.
- Participate in design system working sessions and workshops with product teams and demonstrating your comfort in presenting system decisions.
- Contribute to the strategic roadmap for the design system's evolution, showing eagerness to learn, iterate, and contribute to a growing, evolving visual system.
- Advocate for accessibility standards and ensure compliance across components, reflecting your commitment to inclusive design practices.
- Throughout all these responsibilities, maintain an openness to feedback, a passion for cross-functional collaboration, and excitement about shaping a visual language and design system that reaches millions of users every day.
