Primary Responsibilities
PURPOSE & PRIMARY FUNCTION
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of tasks concerned with the sanitation, maintenance and upkeep of a Dining Services Unit.
SECONDARY FUNCTION
On occasion, as required, performs the primary duties of other A classification personnel as assigned by the Management staff.
DUTIES PERFORMED
In addition to the requirements for personal conduct which are common to all positions in the University, the following duties outline the major factors of the position. They are not all inclusive, do not set a priority sequence, or establish a ration of work to be performed. They may vary in importance between departments and may be altered within the general framework of the primary function to satisfy changes in departmental activity.
Cleans garbage cans and properly disposes of garbage, trash and recyclables.
Cleans and maintains utility rooms, loading docks and trash areas.
Thoroughly cleans and polishes dining service equipment, fixtures and furniture.
Transports and stores dishes, utensils, equipment and supplies to the proper stations and/or storage areas.
Washes, mops, cleans, waxes and maintains ceilings, walls, floors, windows, equipment and furniture in the Dining Service Unit.
Maintains kitchen and public areas; dining rooms, lobbies and rest rooms in the Dining Services Unit.
Operates the dish washing machine, including cleaning the machine according to schedule.
Performs hand dishwashing.
Washes and maintains hoods, vents, ducts, filters and grease traps.
Maintains correct standards of cleanliness and safety.
Contributes to the total function of the dining service operation.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Schedule:
Sunday and Monday 6:30a-2:30p
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 2:30p-10:30p
Days off:
Friday and Saturday
This is a full-time, 11 working months position in our dining unit(s). The position offers a competitive wage rate, full benefits package including health, dental, tuition free classes, free access to a fitness center and sporting events and a 10% retirement match!
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required
Must have the ability to operate mechanical cleaning devices and to correctly measure, weigh and apply simple cleaning solutions.
Move 25 lbs or more a distance of 10 ft or more
Develop positive and productive working relationships.
Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, co-workers, and the campus community
Support a positive work environment through teamwork, honesty, approach-ability and a commitment to customer service.
Must be able to meet the university’s requirement to be authorized to drive a university vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
Salary SEIU Level A: $15.50 to $21.38/hr. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
