Utility Locator Technician No prior experience needed Job Description As a Utility Locator Technician, you will be responsible for learning the operation of utility locating and designating equipment. This includes the use of tools and equipment for utility investigations and performing various tasks under the guidance of field staff. Responsibilities + Learn the operation of utility locating and designating equipment, including pipe and cable locators and non-destructive vacuum excavation. + Use tools and equipment such as jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, compressor blower, vacuum hose, air lance, and hand tools for utility investigations. + Drive commercial motor vehicles without requiring a CDL license. + Complete daily logs of work performed, which includes simple mathematics. + Perform daily basic vehicle maintenance. + Set up and maintain traffic operations safely under direct supervision of field staff. + Assist with survey and data collection tasks, supporting overall crew activities. + Perform daily routine maintenance of equipment. Essential Skills + Subsurface utility engineering + Survey + Vacuum operations + Understanding of underground utilities + Experience in the utility industry Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED + Ability to work outdoors in all climates + Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, for up to 2-week continuous stays Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
