This role involves conducting utility investigations using various tools and equipment and supporting survey and data collection tasks.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Twinsburg, Ohio.
ResponsibilitiesLearn the operation of SUE utility locating and designating equipment, including pipe and cable locators and non-destructive vacuum excavation.Utilize tools and equipment to conduct utility investigations, including jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, compressor blower, vacuum hose, air lance, and hand tools.Drive commercial motor vehicles without the requirement of a CDL license.Complete daily logs of work performed, utilizing simple mathematics.Perform daily basic vehicle maintenance.Conduct safety set-up and maintenance of traffic operations under direct supervision of Sr field staff.Assist with survey and data collection tasks, supporting overall crew activities.Perform routine maintenance of equipment daily.Essential SkillsExperience in subsurface utility engineering.Knowledge in survey techniques.Understanding of vacuum operations.Familiarity with underground utilities.Experience in the utility industry.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.Valid driver's license with a good driving record.Ability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only).Capability to obtain a DOT medical card for CMV operation (U.S. only).Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary to operate heavy tools and equipment.Capacity to work outdoors in all climates.Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, for up to 2-week continuous stays.OSHA Safety certifications are a plus.Prior utility-related experience is a plus.Basic understanding of Highway/Utility plans is a plus, but not required.Recruiter: Eisen Hardy - 'ehardy@actalentservices.com'Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
