Utility Designer
Job Title: Utility Designer/Planner

Job Description

Join a dynamic design team as a Designer/Planner, where you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the planning and production of utility line infrastructure routes. This role offers a chance to work in a growing multifaceted utility design and engineering firm, potentially leading to opportunities in the distribution design space.

ResponsibilitiesManage the setup and preparation of detailed project drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D during planning and design.Work closely with Project Managers to provide drawings on schedule.Select and interpret data on map-based platforms such as Esri or Google Earth.Meet design standards and specifications for local municipalities.Understand and interpret utility records and Michigan’s MISSDIG system.Understand AutoCAD requirements needed for different clients as well as the firm.Coordinate project deadlines with Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers.Document and manage milestone execution on projects.Perform other duties as assigned by Project Manager.Essential SkillsExperience in fiber optic or OSP design work.Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or GIS for design work.Knowledge of utility-related survey work.Ability to understand and apply utility industry lingo or knowledge.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with OH/UG utility lines, natural gas, distribution, substation, site development.Familiarity with Esri and Google Earth for map data interpretation.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
