Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Used Car Mechanic to join our automotive team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining used vehicles to ensure they meet safety and quality standards. This role is essential in preparing vehicles for resale and maintaining customer satisfaction through reliable service.

Key Responsibilities:Inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in used vehicles.Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake jobs, tire rotations, and fluid checks.Repair or replace worn or damaged parts including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension components.Perform pre-sale vehicle inspections and make necessary repairs to ensure safety and functionality.Document repair work and maintain accurate service records.Test drive vehicles to verify problem resolution and quality of repair.Work closely with service advisors, sales teams, and other technicians.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.Stay up to date with new automotive technologies and tools.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification a plus.2+ years of experience as an automotive mechanic, preferably working with used vehicles.Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of automotive systems including engines, brakes, electrical, HVAC, and suspension.ASE certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).Valid driver's license and clean driving record.Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in a physically demanding environment.Work Environment:Fast-paced shop environmentRequires standing, lifting, bending, and manual dexterityMay involve exposure to noise, fumes, and hazardous materialsCompensation and Benefits:Competitive hourly wage or salary based on experience[Optional: Performance bonuses]Health, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidaysOpportunities for training and advancement
