Job Description SummaryThe Logistics Specialist is responsible for executing shipments, reporting transportation metrics, remediating issues pertaining to safety, on-time delivery, as well as transportation damage, and ultimately ensuring that internal and external customers’ needs are fulfilled within accordance of company and industry policies.

Job DescriptionResponsibilities: Coordinates and monitors international inbound shipments with compliance to company and industry standardsEnsures appropriate carrier and service level are selected based on company objectives for delivery and costMaintains shipping records, including providing tracking or shipping history information to internal customers on requestOwns relationships with logistics providers, maintaining operational and performance reportingPro-actively addresses performance defects to ensure successful operationsIdentifies and supports initiatives conducive to greater efficiency and cost savingsCross-functionally collaborates with internal key stakeholders to support continual improvement

Qualifications: Proficient knowledge of logistics terminology and operations, including various modes of transportation and the considerations for pricing and routingComprehension of supply chain processes and lean manufacturing conceptsInvolvement in identifying and resolving complex issuesExperience in recording, maintaining, and reporting accurate data

Required Qualifications: 1-3+ years of experience in logistics and Bachelor’s degree in related fieldDemonstrated ability to professionally read, write, and speak in EnglishStrong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environmentAdept communication and analytical skillsProficient with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Ability to successfully resolve problems with internal and external stakeholdersPrior experience within manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain managementProven ability to prioritize various initiatives and meet deadlines in a fast-paced changing environment
