(USA) Manager, Creative - Senior Copy Editor
Position Summary...As a Senior Copy Editor at Walmart, you shape how millions of people perceive the brand by refining every word that goes out the door. You ensure that all creative content—from social media posts to store signage—follows strict grammar, punctuation, and brand voice standards. You guide internal teams and agency partners with clear, constructive feedback to elevate the quality and consistency of messaging. You manage multiple projects independently, update style guides, and mentor writers to help them grow. Ultimately, your work helps Walmart communicate with clarity, creativity, and purpose across every customer touchpoint.

What you'll do...Clearly & confidently editing creative from all Walmart Creative Studio outputs, plus internal & external creative partners to ensure correct grammar & punctuation, as well as brand style & voice consistency.Providing clear, concise feedback on creative deliverables from agency partners, offering guidance for how to resolve grammar or style issues.Ensuring that messaging direction & business priorities are translated into compelling, customer-centric copy for a range of assets, including paid & owned social channels, site assets, emails, digital ads, store signage, printed mailers, & more.Independently managing multiple copy projects on different timelines with varying levels of complexity, stakeholders & importance to the business.Owning & updating our brand’s style guides.Being the arbiter of grammar, punctuation, & style, documenting the results in our style guide.Clearly communicating grammar, punctuation & style rules to our internal & external partners, providing training for new hires & agency partners.Crafting copy that gets to the heart of who our customers are, as needed.Collaborating with & mentoring copywriters, helping them improve skills & performance. Maintaining a positive, can-do attitude in all facets of work. Seeking answers to ambiguous asks, finding comfort working autonomously/proactively, & quickly pivoting direction based on changing business needs.

Qualifications

BA in Journalism, Creative Writing, Advertising, or related field & 5+ years copywriting experience OR 8+ years copy editing experience.3+ years of experience editing/copywriting in a retail or ecommerce environment.Excellent proofreading skills & over-the-top attention to detail. Ability to work autonomously & self-manage, as well as collaborate closely.Willingness to roll up your sleeves & do what it takes to get the job done.Strong organizational skills, a strong sense of ownership & accountability, & the ability to own projects, communicate effectively, & be a self-starter.  Proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, & flexible in the face of shifting business needs due to the rapidly changing nature of marketing, retail, & ecommerce. High emotional intelligence, excellent relationship-building skills, able to manage expectations well across a wide variety of partners & expertise areas. Fantastic sense of humor is a plus!

The annual salary range for this position is $96,000.00-$186,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...
