ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Director Role of External benchmarking will be the primary strategic interface engaging with Senior external partners assessing competitive positioning, industry best practices and emerging trends. Responsible for providing evidence- based recommendations to enhance the AI organization’s capabilities, products and operations. Additionally, this role will partner with Procurement to develop effective, efficient sourcing strategies that allow for efficient scalability and experimentation.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop strategy and metrics framework to compare internal performance with external peers (e.g. model efficiency, data pipeline performance)Responsible for driving innovation velocity informed by benchmarking dataIdentify and evaluate relevant external organizations, competitors and industry leaders for benchmarking AI capabilities, products and practicesPartner with external vendors to identify areas for Proof-of-concept testingPartner with Procurement in evaluation of potential vendors for AI/ML platforms, for AI/ML platforms, large language models (LLMs), specialized hardware (GPUs), data labeling services, and model governance solutions.Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand competitor offerings, technological advancement to enable Marketing and CFC effectiveness and develop proposals for cutting edge AI capabilities that enable Marketers/CFCsPrepare & present reports/dashboards for senior leadership with key benchmarking findings, gaps and opportunitiesPartner with strategic prioritization role to support strategic planning, investment decisions and product roadmaps with evidence from external comparisonsWork closely with product, research, engineering, policy and compliance teams to align benchmarking outcomes with internal initiativesCandidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impactBASIC QUALIFICATIONS
12+ plus years in commercial, strategy, market intelligence (preferably in tech or AI organizations)Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science AI or related field.Familiarity with AI industry benchmarks a plusExperience in managing external partners, consulting engagements, industry surveysPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $204,700.00 to $341,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
