Airswift is seeking a Lab Technician to join one of our major clients in the oil and gas industry. This is a full-time contract role offering an exciting opportunity to work alongside leading researchers and contribute to the development of innovative technologies.
As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for conducting routine and advanced analytical testing on crude oil and petroleum products. Your work will directly support scientific research and operational excellence in the energy sector.
Role OverviewSet up, calibrate, operate, and maintain analytical laboratory equipment
Conduct laboratory tests using wet chemistry procedures and advanced instruments such as NMR and GC-MS
Collect, analyze, and document test results with accuracy and attention to detail
Create detailed reports including charts, graphs, and written summaries of analytical data
Maintain laboratory cleanliness and ensure all safety protocols are followed
Collaborate with scientists and technical teams to support research and development initiatives
Skills & QualificationsStrong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and testing procedures
Proficiency in analyzing data and documenting results
Comfortable working with complex analytical equipment (e.g., GC-MS, NMR)
Education & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field preferred
2–4 years of experience in an analytical laboratory or similar environment
