Job Description
The Medical Receptionist will manage the reception of a busy outpatient site, handling tasks such as checking patients in and out, verifying insurance and copays, and scheduling appointments. Additionally, the role involves answering office calls and working in the medical billing department to collect past due payments.
ResponsibilitiesGreet patients professionally both in person and on the phone.Quickly answer or properly refer questions and issues.Optimize provider schedules and enhance patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling.Notify providers of patient arrivals.Comfort patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions.Ensure availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records.Verify financial records and collect patient charges while filing and expediting third-party claims.Collect on past due medical billing claims.Essential SkillsExperience in healthcare, collections, and insurance verification.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Strong administrative support and patient registration skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of non-clinical healthcare experience.High School Diploma or GED.Work Environment
Work hours are Monday through Friday, 12 PM to 8 PM. The role is based in a small, fast-paced office environment located in Yorktown Heights, NY. The company offers a small company atmosphere with opportunities to advance into supervisory roles.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00/hr.
