Job Description

AECOM is seeking a visionary Project Manager and strategist with extensive experience leading innovative, large-scale planning, infrastructure and development projects and who thrives in interdisciplinary environments and believes that great design is inseparable from public trust and equity. The ideal candidate has a passion for working on complex civic-focused projects, leads with empathy and designs with purpose. This role is to be based in Cleveland, OH.

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of complex public-private development projects with a focus on downtowns, waterfronts and culturally vibrant urban districts. The successful candidate will work on local projects as well as projects in other cities across the country. They’ll manage internal and external multidisciplinary teams, shape project vision and serve as a key liaison between design teams, city leaders and the communities we serve.

The successful candidate will be adept at liaising with public, private, and nonprofit stakeholders to drive equitable, design-led solutions from concept through execution. They will develop and implement strategies that align community needs with economic and infrastructure goals and resources. They will facilitate cross-sector coalitions, secure public-private partnerships and capital and direct project delivery with a focus on resiliency and inclusive growth. Their work will go beyond project management to serve as a connector of ideas, people, and disciplines.

The successful candidate must be a dynamic leader with credentials across architecture, planning and urban development. They will understand the value of leveraging the design platform that AECOM offers, which is access and collaboration with industry leading designers and technical experts in nearly every design and engineering field. They will be involved in civic-minded and allied professional groups and organizations that further AECOM’s goals.

• Manages one or more moderately complex projects, and clients, involving a combination of the following:
• Clients with a regional geographic footprint; OR,
• Projects involving multiple services provided by regional IE offices; OR,
• Other complexities, such as projects that involve strategic planning, economics, infrastructure, environmental protection, due diligence, etc.
• May manage all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).
• Works mostly independently but receives basic instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
• Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
• May supervise: senior level designers, architects, landscape architects, engineers (all disciplines applicable), as well as project administration, project controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating and procurement representatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS + 6 Years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education                       

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional landscape architecture, or architecture license in OhioMaster’s degree in landscape architecture or urban design10 years of relevant professional urban planning or urban design related experience3+ years of applicable design leadership and/or project management experience.Collaborator & IntegratorProject leadership experienceFamiliarity with and past participation with business development activities such as marketing, proposals and client development.Excellent internal and external communication of design visionExcellent written communication skillsNon-mandatory participation in civic-minded organizationsEvidence of third-party recognition of your work or projects you have played a significant role in, e.g., ASLA, AIA, design awards and/or publications and presentations with a focus on design
