Position Summary

The Ultra Pure Water (UPW) engineering team is guided by extensive data research and development that is anchored by collaborative relationships. At our Ultra Pure Water treatment plant on the Samsung Semiconductor site, our drive for current operational sustainability is balanced by future technology road mapping to ensure operational resilience and environmental stewardship.

Role and Responsibilities

As the Technical Lead of the UPW Engineering team, you will:

Review the technical readiness of engineering deliverables, which include the following:Promoting a safe work environment using a process safety mindsetMonitoring system performance and trend analysis for operational needsUse of peer-reviewed quantitative and qualitative data in technical reports for financial requests, incident reports and upper management presentationsProviding oversight and communication to support the needs of Operations, Instrumentation & Maintenance teams as well as sub-contractorsEvaluating process requirements and specifications of all UPW systemsCultivating, sustaining and managing  collaboration to ensure site safety, quality of operation, and environmental stewardshipProvide guidance to personnel, management, and executives on clean water projects rationalization and future planning of technical road map.Mentor, and provide technical development opportunities for each member of the UPW team through a collaborative career mapping approach that also support organizational objectivesLead innovation in new water treatment technologiesAdvise the team on prioritize of daily tasks, up through capital investment executionSupport management reporting needs through data collection, consolidation and analysisFoster a team culture that promotes operational excellence, continuous learning, and empowerment.Advise on succession planning for all UPW Engineer and Project Manager roles, as well as talent acquisition and retention.

Essential Functions

Participates and leads some of the commissioning activities, and provides subject matter expertise to contractors and the internal team for any commissioning or construction related issuesComplete project management of multiple projects across the UPW systemsSupports team execution and reports work in an organized, systematic and concise methodLeads prioritization of team resources with input from individual contributorsDevelops and manages Industry Organization participation for teamCommunicates organizational strategy and long-term goals in a tactical execution format for direct reports to connect withCollaborates with operational supervisors to understand current needs of UPW systemsLeads, encourages and enables data driven process improvement focusCollaborates with colleagues on initiatives and to support the needs of other teamsFosters a collaborative environment within Engineering, Operations and Maintenance teamsFrequent collaboration with Engineering Supervisor or Engineering Manager to improve the performance of the teamCoaches and mentors staff to facilitates career development and technical expertiseSupports the development and establishment of SOP’s, SOO’s, standard specifications, step plans and other procedures

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment
Most work is performed in an office environment. Field work is also used for observation and research with team members to review work plans and discuss areas of improvement.

Physical Demands
Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
The position is full-time and based on a Standard Weekly work schedule. The schedule calls for working between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Additionally, the TL is a listed escalation contact during nights and weekends.

Travel
Very infrequent overnight or international travel is anticipated for this position.

Skills and Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

M.S or B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, Process or Industrial Engineering preferred or commiserate experience10+ years of experience in a process engineering environment5+ years in UPWExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong data analysis and troubleshooting skillsProficient in Microsoft Windows based applications

Preferred Education and Experience

Demonstrated experience in guiding and mentoring engineers within a facilities environmentDesign, Construction, Commissioning and Start-up experience preferred12+ years of experience in a Facilities, Engineering and/or Project Management environmentStrong technical background – with particular ability to understand, repair, and optimize industrial process systemsComputer programming experience a plusPE license is a plusProject Management experience (PMP) a plus

The current base salary range for this role is between $109,050- $212,650. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
