Job Description

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Demonstrate ability to learn new techniques, work with Senior level associates to solve problems, prepare technical reports; and evaluate new instrumentation or process techniquesIndependently execute laboratory-based studies as defined in protocols, analyzes and interprets results, participates in process improvement, development, and qualification activitiesEnsure experimental and testing work is performed as defined in the approved study protocols or SOPs/guidelinesPresent study results to cross functional project team to provide updates on project status and progressWork closely with team, be engaged in the planning of experiments resulting from campaign learnings to increase process robustness                 Ensure accurate and complete documentation of any scientific experimental plan, data and reportMaintains laboratory facilities and equipment, in accordance with company policies and industry best practicesEnsures labs are clean, safe, and organized to ensure efficient performance of activitiesAdhere to all site safety, environmental and industrial hygiene procedures and practices, and actively participate in maintaining and enhancing the safety of the workplace and the laboratoriesTroubleshoot, repair, clean and operate equipment, as needed

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD POSSESS:

Ability to set up, operate and sample bench-scale/pilot scale bioreactorsAbility to carry out mammalian cell culture using different hosts per defined protocolsAbility to execute different harvesting and cell lysis techniquesDemonstrated effective communication skills, oral and written, in a multi-disciplinary, project-driven work environmentMust be self-motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentMay be required to work periodically out of normal business hoursAttention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and effective interpersonal and communication skills are required

QualificationsBS in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field with 2+ yrs industry experience in developing mammalian cell culture processesStrong cGMP experience in clinical manufacturingAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
