Job Description

Eurofins PSS is seeking a customer-focused emerging biochemist to support a client site. The role will focus mostly on method and process transfers as well as optimizations. This position will involve utilizing chromatography instruments such as UPLC and HPLC as well as other protein and biochemistry techniques.

Conduct analytical methods to support analysis, monitoring and characterization of in-process samples used in developing and scaling  downstream processes for biological therapeutic treatmentsPerform biochemistry methods including UPLC/HPLC (size-exclusion, hydrophobic, ion-exchange, affinity), immunoassays (Gyrolab), CGE and SDS-PAGE to support the quantification and characterization of protein purification processes.Opportunity to learn protein purification techniques and to support  bench-scale purification studies.Maintain written records (electronic lab notebooks and databases) of all experimental work in accordance with Good Laboratory PracticesLead the routine calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of laboratory instruments to support the in the maintenance and continuous improvement of safe and effective working practicesAnalyze, summarize, and present experimental data and maintain accurate records in client-provided electronic lab notebooks (ELNs).Collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional partners, proactively communicating issue, discussing prioritization, and seeking guidance when needed.Stay flexible and open to learning new techniques and technologies as project needs evolve.

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

BS/MS in Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or relatedAt least 1-2 years of industry experience in a fast-paced, collaborative laboratory conducting analytical biochemistry such as chromatographic, spectroscopic and other detection techniques to characterize and monitor protein purification processDemonstrated industry experience of at least 1 year conducting UPLC methods, preferably on Agilent systems and with a working knowledge of Empower or Chemstation software to perform capture and data analysisMust have experience running data analysisMust be eligible to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipThe successful candidate must have strong organizational skills, good lab safety awareness and effective oral and written communication skillsApplicants should be self-motivated, organized, capable of working independently, and in a collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Industry experience with ELISA, SDS-Page, and other biochemistry and protein techniques.GMP or GLP experience as this position will require documentation and notebooking

Additional Information

Position is Full Time, Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Bothel, WA are encouraged to apply.
