University Place Hotel is a public hotel, owned and operated by PSU, with approximately 8000 sq. ft. of meeting space, and 234 guest rooms. Position Summary The Lobby Attendant & Housekeeper is a crucial dual-role position, ensuring our hotel consistently presents a pristine and welcoming environment. Beyond maintaining the meticulous cleanliness of both public areas and guest rooms, this role serves as a visible and proactive presence in the lobby, especially during peak times like Saturdays. By seamlessly handling cleaning duties and providing prompt guest assistance and information, you’ll directly contribute to exceptional guest satisfaction and the smooth, efficient operation of our hotel.
This position could have the option to work above the assigned FTE (ie. above 20 hours per week). Minimum Qualifications from Classification Minimum qualifications are not established for this classification. The appointing authority is responsible for recruitment and selection. Refer to Personnel Rule 105-43-005. Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position High school education or equivalent. Ability to work alone and follow trained procedures and standards. Ability to remain on feet, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, lift, push, and pull throughout shift. Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends, and holidays. Ability to take direction and be flexible to change tasks/multi-task on demand. Ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to work with minimal to moderate supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications Two or more year’s custodial/housekeeping experience in a hotel/hospitality/travel industry. Previous customer service experience.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement The starting hourly rate for this position will be between $17.53 and $18.79. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
