Unix Systems Administrator (12 months contract )

This role can be based out of our office in Mississauga, ON. **Key Responsibilities** + Administration of virtualized Unix environments (PowerVM/Cloud) + Install Operating System software, upgrades, maintenance fixes/patches, and third-party software applications following industry standards. + Perform data gathering, debugging, root cause analysis, and problem resolution. + Participate in data center hardware installations. + Support and work with consultants/technicians to correct any hardware/OS problems that may arise. + Data Storage Management. + Develop and maintain Technical Documents for systems, databases and applications. + Perform after-hours maintenance tasks. **\#LI-Hybrid #LI-VJ1** **Qualifications** + An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a relevant work experience is preferred. + 2–3 years of experience in IT administration or technical support; retail IT experience is an asset. + Some experience in a UNIX/LINUX based systems administration role. + Database experience is considered an asset. + Administer Cloud and on-premises environments to ensure their availability, reliability, security, and integrity. + Collaborate with other IT functional areas and project teams to implement, deploy, and maintain cloud and on premises solutions. + Work closely with IT Security and Center of Excellence teams to implement industry best practices. **Who we are:** We started in a small town in Nova Scotia but we are now in communities of all sizes across this great country.
