University Talent Advisor II, Technology –Contract

About the role: 

This is a contract role within GM Financial. The University Talent Advisor II is responsible for partnering with talent leadership, HR Partners and Hiring Managers to execute an intern recruitment strategy for technical internship positions in the technology area of the business. Responsibilities include full life cycle recruiting, assisting in the development and execution of a broad based sourcing strategy, and ultimately delivering a viable talent pipeline for the business. The University Talent Advisor II will develop and execute a plan to meet intern program hiring requirements by evaluating, interviewing and presenting qualified intern candidates to hiring managers and also provide regular updates throughout the process to ensure candidate decisions are made timely. This role extends and negotiates employment offers with candidates by selling the company and the position and completes the pre-employment process according to recruiting guidelines. The emphasis of the University Talent Advisor II will be that of internships in the technology area of the business, and will assist all facets of recruitment and complete special projects, as needed.

Should have working knowledge of statutory regulations pertaining to recruiting, such as, but not limited to, anti-discrimination laws, pre-employment screenings, interview techniques/limitations, and special accommodations related to the position.Complete understanding of individual hiring manager’s expectations of the recruitment process to include: job requirements, desired job posting locations, salary structure, required managers to be involved in the interview process and the date the position is expected to be filled.Complete understanding of the GM Financial pre-employment process, policies and procedures, and benefits package is required. Excellent consultative, communication, interpersonal and networking skills are a must.Demonstrated ability to build deep relationships with candidates and interns considered high value targets by the businessMust demonstrate a team-oriented, collaborative nature and have the ability to work with all levels of individuals.Ability to work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations and make sound decisions while meeting time sensitive deadlines.Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to multi-task and meticulous attention to detail.Demonstrated success in sourcing and recruiting for technology roles and internshipsStrong organizational and follow-up skills are required to build and maintain relationships with managers at various levels.Extensive knowledge of applicant tracking systems (ATS); posting open requisitions, tracking candidate activity and maintaining compliance with required data fields.

 

Work Experience

3-5 years experience as a recruiter, preferably with a strong background in Corporate or University recruiting preferredBachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred

What You’ll Be Doing:

Participate in the development and execution of innovative recruitment strategies and solutions aimed at promoting the GMF brand and technology internships to prospective applicants and developing a diverse candidate pipeline for GMF technology internshipsProactively search for, identify, network with and directly contact active and passive job/internship seekers for vacanciesDevelop and maintain relationships with the following people or groups: academic faculty; career office employees; students, military and community organizationsAttend recruiting events such as career fairs, information sessions and networking events at core schools and selected community groups to increase brand awareness and application rate of top talentActs as consultant and advisor to hiring managers, Brand Ambassadors and GMF leadership for talent pipeline developmentManage the presentation, interview process, offer, negotiation, closing and administrative components involved in full life-cycle recruiting.Embrace new and existing technologies: In addition to direct on-campus marketing activities, leverage existing branding and recruitment tools to their full capacity (i.e. Handshake, Oracle, Codility, etc.).
