As a University Relations Recruiter, you’ll be at the forefront of attracting emerging talent and future leaders to The Hartford. In this highly consultative position, you will provide expert guidance to senior leadership, business partners, and stakeholders, ensuring they have the talent needed to drive our organization forward. You’ll manage a high-volume, end-to-end recruiting process for Internship, Leadership Development, and Early Career Programs—handling complex roles with efficiency and professionalism.

In this role, you’ll develop and implement strategic recruiting plans for assigned schools and programs, leveraging your consultation and relationship-building skills to partner with career services, faculty, administrators, and student organizations. You’ll coordinate and execute a range of on-campus and virtual hiring events, including career fairs, info sessions, presentations, interviews, and special events.

You’ll also play an integral part in the execution of our undergraduate programs—Freshman Experience, Early Immersion, and Summer Intern Program—while offering subject matter expertise and consultative support around early career professionals and campus recruiting.

Technology will be at the heart of your approach, enabling you to streamline processes, capture key metrics, and influence recruiting strategies and school selections. Your ability to manage competing priorities and maintain a high level of performance in an ever-changing environment will set you apart.

This hybrid position requires three days per week in the office in Hartford, CT and regular local travel to campuses, both during and after business hours, giving you the flexibility and reach needed to build strong talent pipelines. 

Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle recruiting for internships, leadership development, and early career programs, including complex and high-volume requisitionsConsult with and advise senior leaders, hiring managers, and business partners on talent strategies and recruitment solutionsDevelop and execute recruiting strategies for assigned schools and programsBuild and maintain strong relationships with career services, faculty, administrators, and student organizationsCoordinate and lead on-campus/virtual recruiting events: career fairs, presentations, info sessions, interviews, and special eventsOversee undergraduate programs (Freshman Experience, Early Immersion, Summer Intern Program)Provide consultative expertise for campus recruiting and early career professionalsUtilize recruiting technology and data analytics to drive strategies and decisionsTravel locally to campuses during and after business hours (10-20% during peak recruiting seasons)

Qualifications

Minimum two years of full life cycle recruiting experience; a blend of in-house and search firm preferred, campus recruiting experience a plusProven ability to consult with and coach senior leaders, stakeholders, and business partnersDemonstrated success managing high-volume, complex recruiting workloadsExperience using technology to reach passive and active candidates and streamline recruitment processesExceptional communication, interpersonal, public speaking, and presentation skillsStrong decision-making, relationship-building, and consultative skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and manage multiple prioritiesAbility to regularly travel to campuses during and after business hours during the spring and fall semestersExperience with Workday, Handshake, 12Twenty, higher education data sources, and social media platforms strongly preferredBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office (Hartford, CT Home Office) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$84,000 - $126,000
