Job Description

The Contract Sales Specialist is a field-based role focused on selling maintenance and service contracts including related qualifications. This role combines deep scientific expertise, a collaborative nature, and rich resources to deliver service solutions for chromatography, mass spectrometry and molecular scientific equipment. These service solutions enable our customers to achieve their scientific goals quickly, reliably, and safely. This strategic sales position will also have Key Account responsibility coordinating with the expanded teams ensuring their contract needs and entitlements are met. A successful candidate will build strong customer relationships, recognize market trends, and collaborate with instrument sales colleagues increase service market share and achieve financial goals.

The Contract Sales Specialist is responsible for:

Key Sales Activities: Develop, implement, and maintain account-specific strategies and proposals to drive incremental growth opportunities. Collaborate with divisional sales teams, channel distribution partners, product & application specialists, customer experience, and business development teams to drive support plan service sales.

Customer Support: Provide intensive support to assigned customers in collaboration Customer Success Managers (renewals team) and Service leaders. Ensuring timely contract renewals, capturing VOC (Voice of Customer) and mapping installation base for each.

Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with end-user customers, key decision makers, and procurement teams.

Sales Reporting: Submit accurate forecasts, weekly reports, monthly highlights, marketing intelligence, and maintain data integrity within Salesforce (SFDC).

System Utilization: Use SAP, Cloud for Service (C4S), and Salesforce (SFDC) systems for quote creation, edits and logging sales activities.

Relationship Building: Build and maintain close and long-term business relationships through face-to-face meetings, phone, and email contacts to communicate product and service information and capture strategic information.

Financial Goals: Ensure the achievement of annual and quarterly financial goals by identifying, developing, and proactively pursuing relevant leads.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Finance or equivalent work experience preferred.  

Sales Skills: 5-8 yrs of sales experience with proven ability to identify and qualify opportunities, manage large complex selling situation, and close deals. Capable of prioritizing, being effective, and strong negotiation skills. Prior experience in similar roles (Account Management, Key Account Management, etc) in a corporate/matrix organization is preferred.

Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to navigate different hierarchical levels and positions authoritatively.

Organizational Skills: High level of organizational skills and self-discipline to optimize time management and efficiency in daily activities.

Personal Attributes: High self-motivation, team spirit, flexibility, and a positive demeanor.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $77,400.00–$127,700.00.
