The Metrology Laboratory Supervisor plays a vital role in Ford’s prototype and launch operations by leading a team of UAW Layout Inspectors focused on dimensional verification of both prototype and production components. This position ensures that critical measurement data is accurately captured and communicated to support engineering and manufacturing teams during early product development and launch phases.
Working closely with the New Model Product Development Center (NMPDC), the supervisor helps enable successful DCV builds and contributes to the readiness of New Product Launches across North American manufacturing sites. The role is instrumental in identifying potential dimensional issues before they impact downstream processes, thereby safeguarding product quality and ensuring alignment with Ford’s engineering standards.

This position requires a strong understanding of metrology principles, attention to detail, and the ability to lead in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. The supervisor serves as a key link between inspection operations and product development, helping to ensure that every part meets design intent and contributes to a successful launch.
You'll have...
Experience in dimensional inspection, metrology, or quality control.Strong leadership and team management skills.Familiarity with GD&T, CMM operation, and layout inspection tools.Familiarity with Ford systems and launch processes preferred.Prior experience with Body Exterior systems.Prior Launch experience in Body Construction.Experience working in a unionized environment is a plus.Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
