JOB SUMMARY
The RN Manager of Memory Support/Namaste oversees daily nursing care for residents in the Memory Support and Namaste areas, focusing on their physical and mental well-being. The Manager works as a practicing RN, supervises other clinical staff, and manages emergency responses when needed. This position collaborates with Cognitive Services and other departments to address the residents' needs, assist providers, ensure accurate documentation, and oversee medication administration while addressing any errors promptly.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing procedures, theory, and practice, with a focus on current trends in gerontological nursing. Knowledge of different types of dementia and programs that delay the progressive cognitive deterioration of people with dementiaExceptional interpersonal and communication skills with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to work as a team or independently and be self-motivated and goal oriented with shared accountabilityExcellent organizational and administrative skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Ability to maintain professional working relationships and work compassionately and professionally with employees, residents, prospective residents, family members, visitors, and the general publicAbility to take initiative to solve problems on behalf of residents/prospective residents and employees and to exercise sound professional judgment appropriately in emergency situationsStrong supervisory skills with the ability to motivate, train, and evaluate staff; skilled in resolving workplace conflicts and promoting teamworkAbility to support the development of nurses and aidesProficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel; demonstrated experience with electronic medical records systems Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionallyAbility to stand and walk throughout the shift, as well as to lift and transfer residentsEmployees may be required to work additional hours when business needs make such scheduling necessary.
