Job Summary and Responsibilities

The incumbent assists other members of the healthcare team with providing basic patient care under the direction of an RN.

Performs basic patient care under the direction of the RN which includes assisting with patient ADL routine, measurement of intake and output and obtaining vital signsCompletes appropriate documentation which includes patient records ensuring it is completed according to hospital policyAssumes responsibility for professional growth by taking advantage of the available opportunitiesParticipates in peer review and staff development, which includes unit and quality process improvement activitiesActively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflictCommunicates as appropriate with other members of the healthcare team

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.  This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.


Job Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalentPrevious Unit Aide experience (If operationally able, hospital will consider training a non-experience incumbent)Current BLS certification (Must be through an American Heart Association provider)

Preferred Qualifications: 

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)Experience in healthcare environment
