Occasional overtime and Saturdays as neededCompensationStarting Pay: $32.71/hour (91% of union scale)Top Scale Pay: $35.65/hour after 692 hours workedStable 40-hour workweek with overtime opportunitiesKey ResponsibilitiesSafely operate a garbage truck on assigned local routes to collect solid wasteFollow route sheets and dispatcher instructions to service customers efficientlyConduct pre- and post-trip inspections, checking fluids, tires, and safety equipmentOperate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refusePerform physically demanding tasks, including loading/unloading waste without assistanceInteract courteously with customers and represent the company professionallyComplete other related duties as assignedWorking ConditionsFrequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects over 50 lbsExposure to outdoor weather, including rain, heat, and coldWork around moving mechanical parts, fumes, and moderate noise levelsMust follow all safety protocols and proceduresMinimum RequirementsValid Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsementAt least 2 years of relevant driving experienceAbility to read, write, and communicate in EnglishHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredBasic knowledge of truck components and inspection proceduresSafety-Sensitive: YES
