Union Mechanic Job ID 242428 Posted 16-Oct-2025 Service line GWS Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Engineering/Maintenance Location(s) New York - New York - United States of America **About The Role:** As a CBRE Union Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. Join the CBRE Team is maintaining a 2M sq ft 52 story multi tenant building. **What You’ll Do:** + Align with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety. + Perform assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance. Complete upkeep and repair records as required. + Review assigned work orders. Estimate time and materials needed to complete repair. Order necessary materials and supplies to finish the tasks. + Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment systems. Troubleshoot and repair installed systems including plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, and HVAC. + Inspect new installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations. + Maintain lighting systems throughout facility. This includes cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps. + Maintain property grounds by performing such tasks as raking, sweeping, leaf blowing, and snow removal. + Perform welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks as needed. + Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance. + Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them. + Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. + Impact the quality of own work. + Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet goal dates. + Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding. **What You’ll Need:** + To perform this job successfully, an individual will need to perform each crucial duty satisfactorily. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. + Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. + Ability to use existing procedures to tackle standard problems. + Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments. + In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. The negotiated rate for the Union position is $45.37 per hour.
