Union ElectricianJob DescriptionThe Industrial Electrician will install, maintain, diagnose, analyze, troubleshoot, and make electrical and mechanical repairs to plant electrical, electronic, and computer numerically controlled equipment. This role requires the ability to analyze equipment and circuitry, diagnose troubles, and repair/adjust/modify all types of electronic devices and systems. The position includes rotation for site emergencies with other JLL Electricians and HVAC Technicians.
Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze, troubleshoot and repair manufacturing/plant equipmentPerform preventive maintenance and calibration activitiesWork with computers, PLCs, and other electronic systemsInstall, test, repair, and replace motors, drives, controls, starters, lights, and power systemsInput data into JLL CMMS and/or Corrigo system for work orders and corrective maintenanceFollow industry best practices for safety procedures, including Arc Flash Protection and Lock Out Tag OutInvestigate and offer improvements to plant operationsService, clean, inspect, and repair equipment following established preventive maintenance schedulesSafely operate mobile equipment such as fork trucks, carts, lifts, and boom liftsCreate notifications and follow up on needed repairs and order required partsRead and interpret engineering drawings relevant to assigned jobsInstall electrical systems and equipment according to NEC provisions and best practicesPrepare and order parts and materials needed for jobsQualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma (Technical school preferred)Journeyman's card3-5 years of recent work experience in the Electrical tradeExperience with controls and control systemsKnowledge of industry best practices for safety proceduresAbility to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketchesAdvanced math calculation skillsBasic computer skillsAbility to work both independently and as a team memberStrong communication skillsPreferredTechnical school education or formal apprenticeship completionExperience in industrial or manufacturing environmentsUnderstanding of belts, belt drives, chain drives, gear boxes, and conveyorsExperience with machining equipment such as band saw, drill press, and lathePhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periodsCapable of lifting up to 50 poundsManual dexterity for using hand and power toolsAbility to work at heights using ladders and liftsVisual acuity to read gauges, instruments, and technical documentationLocation: Syracuse, NY
