**Description** **Position Responsibilities:** + Evaluating and appraising life insurance applications. + Reviewing medical history, financials, and other information pertinent to the underwriting decision. + Classifying the mortality risk of an application according to the Company’s underwriting guidelines. + Collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure prompt and efficient service to our customers. + Participating in ongoing learning and technical development. **Requirements for Success:** + Requires a minimum of 2 years of life underwriting experience. + Solid understanding of medical terminology and the impact of various health conditions and impairments on mortality risk. + Ability to apply underwriting concepts such as medical history, occupational hazards, financial information, and insurable interest when evaluating applications. + Experience using accelerated or automated underwriting systems and data-driven tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy. + Familiar with multiple distribution channels, including broker agents and independent producers. + Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain underwriting decisions to both internal teams and external partners. + Able to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain productivity in a high-volume environment while meeting service standards. + Working towards or completion of FLMI, ALU Level Two Certificate, FALU. \#HO #LI-SB1 **Qualifications** **Education** **Required** + High School or better **Preferred** + Bachelors or better Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
