\t\t\t\t\tProject managers are responsible for managing assigned construction projects. Project Managers serve as theprimary contact with owners/clients and must continually foster a positive relationship with all parties involved.Project Managers generate and monitor cost estimates, prime contracts, schedules, subcontracts, and owner aswell as subcontractor change orders, RFI’s, and process submittals.We are specifically looking for someone with Federal Government experience to lead and manage federalgovernment contracts and projects. his role requires hands-on experience managing multi-disciplinary teams anddelivering projects in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other applicable agency-specificguidelines. 5+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years managing federal governmentcontracts (e.g., GSA, VA, DoD,, DOE, NAFAC, Army Corps of Engineers, etc).About UCCO:Underground Construction Co., Inc. has provided quality gas, power, airport fueling and telecom constructionservices for over 80 years. Our complete and diverse range ofconstruction services includes gas transmission and distribution, electrical transmission and distribution, airportfueling facilities, industrial and special projects, telecommunications, and utilities.ResponsibilitiesWork alongside Division Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to plan, organize, and direct activities inconjunction with road and site construction project plansCoordinate total cost estimates for a particular bid/project as assignedCheck bid source files to ensure the latest information is available prior to bid dayReviews proposal specifications and drawings and attends pre-bid meetingsGenerates RFI’s necessary to establish a competitive baselinePerforms material take-offs and mathematical calculations accuratelyDetermines type of materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractors requiredMonitor and control projects through administrative direction of on-site foremen to ensure project iscompleted on schedule and within budgetRepresent the company in project meetings and attend strategy meetingsWork with contract administrator to manage financial aspects of contracts, protecting the company’sinterest and simultaneously maintaining a good relationship with the customerInterpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clientsUpholds all company safety practices and wears appropriate PPE when working in the fieldFormulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, and schedulingOther related duties and projects as assignedQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or another related majorExperience working on PG&E projects is highly desired5+ Years of utility construction project managementAbility to estimate projects and develop cost proposalsStrong time management and prioritizing abilitiesStrong written & verbal communications skillsAbility to read and understand drawings and specificationsStrong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Microsoft Project & ExcelAbility to demonstrate team building, leadership, and mentoring skillsTravel requirements to job sitesMust be able to maintain a valid driver's license if travellingSupervisory ResponsibilitiesAssist in the selection and hiring of related staff. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance theirperformance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makesrecommendations for personnel actions.Supervise a small number of Project Engineers and Project CoordinatorsPhysical RequirementsWork is performed at project sites and in an office and/or trailerSedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of forcefrequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sittingmost of the time.
