Job Overview:

Rutgers University Medical Group is looking to add a qualified full-time Ultrasound Technologist RE in New Brunswick, NJ.  This position includes working with the neonate, infant, child, adolescent populations, as well as adults with congenital heart disease and pregnant women.  Exams are performed in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology Suite located in the Clinical Academic Building in New Brunswick as well as in the Bristol Myers Children s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and the Labor and Delivery Suite, Antepartum floors, and pediatric emergency department in RWJUH

Qualifications:

Required:

Completion of a two-year Allied Health Degree or successful completion of a 12-month CAAHEP approved School of Ultrasound Technology or Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent educationMust be eligible to acquire American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer / Pediatric, or Cardiovascular Credentialing International certification as a Registered Congenital Cardiac SonographerMust have a minimum of 900 clinical externship hoursAttends CME courses required to maintain professional skillsCandidates who do not possess fetal echocardiography experience must successfully complete on-the- job training

Essential Functions:

Performs complete digital pediatric transthoracic echocardiograms in compliance with the 2010 Guideline and Standards of the American Society of Echocardiography Recommendations for performance of a Pediatric echocardiogramPerforms complete digital fetal echocardiogram in compliance with the 2004 Guideline and Standards of the American Society of Echocardiography Recommendations for the performance of a fetal echocardiogramIs responsible for obtaining all the vital patient information necessary to perform an outpatient echocardiogram which includes a height, weight, blood pressure and ECG when indicatedIs responsible for registering all OutPatient and Fetal Patients through the RWJUH Admission Department to ensure that the finalized reports are electronically filed into both RWJUH and RWJMS electronic medical systemsOur patient base is from newborns to young adultsThe sonographer will work with small children/teenagers/young adults/special needs
