Baylor Scott & White Health is hiring a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to join our Ultrasound Department at Baylor Scott & White Brenham Hospital. This position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while using state-of-the-art imaging technology in a collaborative, community-based hospital setting.
As an Ultrasound Technologist, you’ll perform a variety of diagnostic sonographic procedures to help physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions, while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction at every step.
What You’ll Do
Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
Deliver accurate diagnostic images for interpretation while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.
Communicate effectively with patients using AIDET principles to explain procedures and reduce anxiety.
Prepare and position patients properly, ensuring image accuracy and optimal visualization.
Follow all infection control, radiation safety, and sterile technique standards during exams and invasive procedures.
Maintain ultrasound equipment and the work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards.
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and fellow technologists to ensure efficient workflow and excellent patient care.
Accurately document procedures and maintain imaging records within PACS and EMR systems.
Participate in call rotation as required by the department.

RequirementsEducation: Graduate of an Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
Experience: Previous hospital or clinic ultrasound experience preferred
Certification / Licensure:
Certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in at least one specialty (e.g., AB, OB/GYN, BR, or RVT)
Licensed or eligible per Texas Medical Board requirements for medical imaging professionals
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (within 30 days of hire)
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and sonographic principles
Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills
