Hours:

Full-TimeDay ShiftAlternating weekend. Holiday responsibility and on call requirement.Occasional coverage at satellite locations based on departmental needs.   Location: Maywood, IL

About the Job

In this role, the Sonographer (Ultrasound), under the general supervision of an attending radiologist, and in accordance with department protocols, will utilize high frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques to produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data, which is used by physicians in rendering a medical diagnosis resulting in quality patient care. Will supports general ultrasound services.

Performs and demonstrates competence in ultrasonic scanning procedures by producing, assessing and evaluating ultrasound images and related data that are used by physicians to render a medical diagnosisRecognizing, identifying and appropriately documenting normal anatomy, abnormalities, disease, pathology and pathophysiology for accurate medical diagnosis.

Required:

Associate degree or bachelor's degreeGraduate of an "accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program" Program accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) ONLY.Specific Degree(s): AAS in a Sonographer program1-2 years of previous job-related experience- Medical ImagingNew Graduates have 90 days to obtain ARDMS Certification

Licensure/Certifications

Required:

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association onlyRegistered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)Other: Registration within 90 days of hire in a minimum of one to two specialties of either Abdomen and/or Obstetrics & Gynecology requiredNew Graduates:  Obtain certification within three months of hire.

Preferred:

Registration in both Abdomen and Obstetrics & Gynecology preferred.

Pay Range: $39.00 - 59.00 per hour 

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
