Ultrasonic NDE Engineer (SONIX)
Ultrasonic NDE Engineer **_Sonix_** (www.sonix.com), a part of Tektronix, has been the technology leader for the advanced scanning acoustic microscopy used in packaged semiconductor and wafer inspection services. Sonix is seeking an Engineer who is experienced in the development and implementation of inspection techniques for the ultrasonic nondestructive evaluation (NDE) of multiple sample types including in the semiconductor, medical, and aerospace industries. Experienced in the specification, design, development, and validation of data acquisition components including ultrasonic transducers, ultrasonic pulser receivers, and / or analog-to-digital boards. **Primary Duties:** + Interpret customer specifications to develop engineering and material functional requirements and fabricating technology. + Assist with the development of ultrasonic inspection techniques for challenging customer samples and roll those techniques out to the world-wide Applications team. + Assist with the definition, design, development, modeling, testing, and validation efforts for product development. + Work with cross-functional departments in the efforts of product concept through production. + Open Innovation with Key Suppliers to drive technology development. + Responsibility for project Tollgate forms, Test Plans and reports, and Bills of Materials. + Provide mentoring and guidance to other positions including technical and applications mentoring. + Participate in troubleshooting, Failure Analysis, Root Cause, and Problem Solving Process as required. **Education and Experience Required:** + Ph.D. of Science or Engineering in Ultrasonic Nondestructive Evaluation. + 2+ years of post-doctoral experience developing and validating ultrasonic inspection system components + 2+ years of post-doctoral experience performing ultrasonic inspection on semiconductor components or similar **Special Skills/Certification Required:** + Advanced understanding of acoustic and ultrasonic / elastic wave theory and interaction with materials. + Experience with ultrasonic immersion transducer, pulser/receiver, or A/D board designs and testing. + Ability to read and evaluate schematics, drawings, and 2D/3D models. + Ability to work with global customers / resources. + Able to work independently without supervision. + Strong verbal and written skills + Experience with engineering tools such as Design of Experiments (DoE), Accelerated Product Development (APD), Failure Analysis, Root Cause, Design For Reliability (DFR), Problem Solving Process (PSP), and product capability analysis + Disciplined Project Management experience desirable. + Open Innovation experience desirable. \#LI-RB **Ralliant Corporation Overview** Ralliant, originally part of Fortive, now stands as a bold, independent public company driving innovation at the forefront of precision technology.
