This position is a leadership position in the JV organization with oversight of JV team members. The position is responsible for coordinating with the co-sourcing team of the parent companies on strategic sourcing as well as co-sourcing operational build plan. It requires a substantial amount of creativity, data analytics, perception, initiative, with significant latitude for independent judgement.

What You'll Do: (Responsibilities):

Responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive materials. Responsible for actively participating in development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, budget execution.Interact with JV (GM & LGES) co-sourcing team, GM Program Management and :LGES Planning team to drive sourcing and material availability of current and future chemistries and foam factors of battery cell manufacturing. Drive strategy with the co-sourcing team with a focus of compliance to negotiated contracts while minimizing inventory DOH (Days on Hand).Optimize supply performance by analyzing and applying appropriate tools including benchmarking, cost and value chain analysis, negotiations, supply chain analysisWork closely with cross functional and co-sourcing partners internally and externally to trade off imperatives and identify creative solutions, incl during RFQ management, Procure to Pay, order fulfillment, customer satisfaction, and supplier relationship managementDrive for winning outcomes that are focused on the mission of the businessDevelop and manage great supplier relationshipsLead and respond to critical supply chain issues and provide contingency solutions to mitigate supply chain risk or logistics disruptions for inbound and outbound logistics.Provide pro-active communication on issues that can impact purchasing, logistics or the supply chainDevelop protection of supply and contingency plansAbility to set a strategy and lead a team of individuals to a common goal that meets the overall objectives of the companyResponsible for the day-to-day activities of the team, set goals and performance review of the teamCooperation with legal to resolve any commercial issues with suppliers.Daily supplier interface activities on all commercial items as well as capacity.Support commercial budget activities.Support logistics supplier management initiatives, including “Strategic Supplier Engagement.”Nurture relationships with strategic suppliers by acting as a focal point for commercial issue resolution.Participate in supplier KPI reviews ​

Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience 5+ years’ experience in commodity purchasing, supply chain, engineering, manufacturing, product development, or program/product managementStrong negotiation skillsAbility to work independently and solve complex problems.Effective interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projectsUnderstanding of contractsGlobal business experienceAbility to travel domestically and internationally 25% of the time or higher based on business needs ​
