How will you make an impact in this role?
This role is responsible for driving growth and acceptance of American Express through leading Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) across multiple industry verticals. The ISVs are operating in a high growth, dynamic environment offering payment solutions across several channels including eCommerce, POS/mPOS and In App.
This position requires a strategic thinker with strong relationship management skills to expand coverage and deepen partnerships and identify innovative growth opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and execute partner strategy to increase coverage with existing ISVs and identify new ISVs to work with.
Align on operating models and future expansion opportunities.
Identify and deliver new business development opportunities to increase coverage and billings.
Leverage marketing-led initiatives maximize partner and merchant engagement .
Monitor the changing ISV landscape and advise Amex on product opportunities that could be demonstrated, optimize or replace existing products/services.to ensure American Express stays relevant.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key ISV stakeholders including C – suite executives.
Act as primary point of contact for ISV partners.
Leverage significant payments and industry experience to educate and support both internally and externally.
Be the subject matter expert for ISVs across the enterprise, sharing knowledge within the wider International GMNS organization and collaborating where necessary to deliver business objectives that benefit the Blue Box.
Minimum Qualifications:
Track record of managing Large & Enterprise Partnerships delivering measurable growth.
Strong understanding of the payments space is critical and the evolution of ISVs and their role in the payments ecosystem.
Excellent relationship management skills. The ability to establish and maintain strong relationships built on credibility and trust with a broad network of contacts within partner organizations (incl. C suite).
Ability to clearly articulate the American Express value proposition.
Comfortable working in a highly dynamic, fast paced and evolving environment. Previous experience in a Partnerships role within Merchant Acquiring industry is a must.
Excellent communications skills; must be comfortable working with senior leaders both within AXP and externally to influence decisions and drive change.
Thought leadership and problem-solving skills - much of this role is rapidly changing and evolving, so it requires innovative thinking and the ability to rapidly develop and adapt strategy as circumstances change.
Strong financial acumen - key elements include innovative commercial constructs, margin and revenue analysis.
Ability to operate effectively within a global matrix organization, sharing knowledge, best practices and collaborating to drive greater alignment and streamlined processes.
