About this RoleThis position is based in Santa Clara California. This is a contract role for a UAS Pilot at Quanta Aviation Services. Quanta Aviation Services (QAS) is dedicated to managing, coordinating, and enhancing all aviation operations across Quanta Services. QAS standardizes work procedures, controls, operations, and scheduling for both internal and external aviation services operations to ensure the highest levels of safety and compliance. We offer tiered aviation services, HEC services, and UAS services, to our utility partners nationwide and hold an ISBAO stage II certification.
What You'll DoThe UAS Pilot will be responsible for conducting basic and comprehensive visual inspections using small multirotor drones (DJI and other platforms). Pilots with experience on critical infrastructure projects and able to work remotely are encouraged to apply. This position is 100% travel in CONUS, with immediate needs in Central/Coastal California for a ~5-month period, with opportunity for full-time employment shortly after.
What You'll Bring UAS piloting skills for basic and comprehensive visual inspections on infrastructure 100 hours MINIMUM inspecting and flying near critical infrastructure. Ability to work independently and remotely. Clean FAA safety/incident record, and clean driving record Experience in remote field operations, solo operations, problem solving, and troubleshooting all aspects of sUAS operations. Familiar with GIS software, navigation to assigned structures, reporting on structures completed at end of day. Knowledge of data delivery, including uploading images with hotspot/Star Link connectivity Experience with drone photography, able to quickly adjust photo settings mid-flight. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills FAA Part 107 Certification Compensation Range The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $2,500.00/Wk. - USD $3,000.00/Wk. depending on experience and qualifications.
