Shape the Future of Joint UAV Operations
Leidos is looking for a mission-driven Solutions Architect with expertise in integrating diverse UAV command and control (C2) systems into standardized Department of Defense (DoD) architecture. You’ll work closely with cyber experts, engineers, and government tech teams—including SOCOM and AFLCMC—to guide the design and development of interoperable solutions across complex DoD networks.
This is a part time opportunity.
What You’ll Do
Lead the design of solutions that extend a government-owned UAS control system to new platforms.Ensure interoperability across AFSOC and USSOCOM communications and C2 systems.Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems and hardware engineers, IT teams, and government stakeholders.Integrate both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom-built components as needed.Navigate systems operating in classified enclaves and enterprise-level networks.Develop documentation, diagrams, and test procedures in partnership with system and network engineers.Evaluate cost, risk, and long-term supportability of proposed solutions.Manage complex projects with autonomy and precision.Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 10+ years of relevant experience OR an Associate degree in a technical field and 12+ years of related experience.Background in communications, satellite systems, or DoD project management, particularly in UAV control and training systems.Experience with AFLCMC and USSOCOM aircraft program offices.Proven ability to lead rapid development and prototyping efforts.Must hold an current TS/SCI security clearance.Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience as a UAS pilot or sensor operator, with instructor/evaluator credentials.Strong knowledge of commercial and aircraft communications systems.Hands-on experience solving challenges with OEMs and government program engineers.Pay Range (USD):$104,650 - $217,350
