Performs professional duties involved in a variety of technical procedures for radiological diagnosis or treatment of patients of all ages. Performs multi-modality procedures using computer processing skills, injection skills as needed, and other related techniques to produce images for interpretation by a radiologist or other credentialed specialist.
 

Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served.   Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images. Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required. Performs duties associated with processing patients, which may include scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing skills. Evaluates, prepares, positions and observes patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety. Complies with all Carilion Clinic and Imaging policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines. Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned. Maintains competencies and meets or exceeds standards for each skill performed. Maintains required certification for each skill. Enhances personal and professional growth through participation in educational opportunities. What We Require:

Education: High school graduate or GED and Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology required.

Experience: CPR required. One year of experience preferred in MRI. Will consider applicants who have completed MRI school or are currently enrolled in MRI school.

Licensure/Certification: Certified/registered by the ARRT in MRI or certified/registered in an Imaging profession by the ARRT, NMTCB or ARDMS or a candidate for the MRI advance certification by meeting the ARRT candidate requirements. MRI technologists employed after May 1, 2014 have one (1) year to complete their advanced MRI certification. AHA BLS-HCP required. MRI certificate accepted.

Other: Good interpersonal, technical skills and flexibility in assignments.
