QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE • Four years of college-level work or equivalent experience; • At least one year of experience working with high school students. OVERVIEW: Under the supervision of the Principal or designee, perform a wide variety of functions, involving students, parents, staff, and community, to provide a comprehensive campus-wide tutorial/student support center. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for the overall planning and organization of the Tutorial Center; • Coordinate tutorial assistance for students in all academic subject areas; assign and schedule tutors with students; • Maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning; • Advertise and market Tutorial Center to the school and community; • Work closely with staff and teachers to encourage and coordinate staff and student participation; • Create and distribute flyers, posters and tutor schedules throughout the school; • Establish contacts and maintain correspondence with parents, local college and businesses to invite their participation in the program; • Accept student referrals and provide feedback; • Provide direct tutoring with some students; • Collect and maintain a file of course information sheets and assignments, study skill handouts, and test preparation study guidelines; • May administer some make-up exams; • Develop and organize SAT, Competency, and Study Skills Workshops; • Maintain and compile records of student, tutor, and staff participation; • Compile, verify, and update list of private tutors; • Plan, organize, and implement the numerous aspects of a tutorial program; • Prioritize and coordinate own work and work of others; • Make arithmetic calculations with speed and accuracy; • Understand and follow oral and written directions; • Read, interpret, and follow rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; • Operate a personal computer or computer terminal with accuracy; • Please see more in the job description attached below.
