Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Senior Underground Geologist at our Turquoise Ridge operations. In this role, you will lead underground ore control activities while promoting a strong safety culture and positive working environment. This role oversees daily geologic mapping and sampling, ore and waste routing, stockpile tracking, and data reporting, while mentoring and developing a team of geologists and technicians.
You will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Processing, and other site teams to improve geological understanding, support mine planning, and drive accurate mine-to-mill reconciliation. The position also offers opportunities to lead geologic projects, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and play a key role in maximizing ore recovery and minimizing dilution.
Responsibilities:
Drive zero harm workplace through visible felt leadership and responsibility to stop unsafe work, while promoting a positive work environment. Complete routine job observations and underground tours.Supervise day-to-day operations of the ore control department including geologic mapping and sampling, ore/waste routing, surface and underground stockpile tracking, data entry, and reporting.Mentor and train geologists and technicians in a variety of ore control activities. Ensure development plans are established and maintained for direct reports.Build and maintain collaborative internal relationships with key departments (Engineering, Operations, Process, Environmental, Growth and Exploration, Safety and Finance).Compile and review mapping and assay data with ore control and modelling geologists to provide quality improvements to the geologic understanding of the ore body.Participate in short and long-term mine planning with Geology, Engineering, Operations, and Process.Support site reconciliation through identifying and explaining variances and providing solutions to mitigate/maximize ore recovery and minimize dilution. Contribute to mine-to-mill reconciliation; Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.Lead geologic projects and look for ways to continuously improve the ore control department.Qualifications:
