Turnaround Lead Scheduler

One of our major oil and gas clients is seeking a Turnaround Lead Scheduler to work on a 12-month assignment in their facilities in Superior, WI

Summary:
The Turnaround Lead Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing detailed schedules for plant turnarounds, outages, and events. Beyond technical expertise, the Turnaround Scheduler must foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and respect. The role calls for someone who builds trust through communication and collaboration, helping drive solutions rather than simply identifying problems.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the development and optimization of detailed, resource-loaded, logic-driven schedulesFormalizes turnaround shutdown and start up logic and schedules in Primavera softwareDevelops conceptual turnaround schedulesInputs and reviews field planning data into the scheduleDetermines and ties internal and external logicCompletes schedule data entry check list per job packageUpdates and forecasts the turnaround schedule to planSolicits plan and schedule suppositions from turnaround management and tests hypothesesAdvises turnaround management of opportunities and risks within the plan and schedule and makes recommendations to capitalize on or mitigate them as appropriateLeads schedule review exercises with core planning teamLeads contractor schedule reviews and contractor schedule integration processPrepares user friendly schedule formatPrepares user friendly shift and three-day look ahead schedules during the turnaround executionManages schedule progress and change during turnaround executionGenerates turnaround reports for progress as needed

Provide mentoring and coaching to junior peers and counterparts


 

Requirements:

Minimum a high school diploma or GED. Degree or PMP a plus but not required.Minimum 8-10 years building and executing complex turnaround or outage schedules, in Oil and Gas, LNG, or chemical facilitiesExperience as a Turnaround Planner is requiredIn-depth Primavera Project Management P6 knowledge is requiredStrong experience level using Microsoft Office SuitePrior use of IPS is an assetKnowledge and experience in the best practices and cycles for Turnaround data communication.Background as a pipefitter or boilermaker an assetStrong leadership and organizational skillsStrong planning and scheduling skills, able to track multiple activities with a high degree of accuracyExceptional problem solving and analytical skills. Able to adapt and work in a fluid work environment which expects high level of customer services, confidentiality, and integrityCapable of setting high standards and promoting continuous improvementAble to establish a mutually respectful relationship with management, peers and the various facility level workers who are all essential to ensuring successful events
